1. Family and Relationship Counselling Programmes
The Family and Relationship Counselling Section of the Organisation is an
approved Organisation under the Family Law Act, which means that information
from counselling sessions is protected under Section 10E & 10J of the Family Law
Amendment (Shared Responsibility) Act (2006) and is
not admissible in any court. This service is subsidised by the Dept. of Family,
Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA) and the Attorney
General’s Dept. Clients also contribute through donations.
All counselling staff are qualified in either social work or psychology and are
supervised at least fortnightly.
Aims:
To assist people to enhance their relationship
To assist people to deal with the problems encountered within the relationship
To assist parents in their parenting roles
To assist people dealing with separation and divorce
To provide services for those recovering from relationship breakdown
To provide services for those moving into new relationships
To provide services to assist people who experience personal issues
To provide a child focussed service
To provide a
child inclusive service
These programmes are partly funded by: Commonwealth Dept. of Families
Housing, Community Services, Indigenous Affairs and State Department for
Child Protection and operates from Geraldton, Kalbarri, Mullewa, Carnarvon
and Exmouth.
